The main Reason that a Fast Coronavirus test was developed so quickly in China is because China needs to Focus on developing such a test in Very Urgent situation. This is supported by putting resources such as Experts available, Equipment etc.
I doubt whether Prof Tan could have the resources to do it in Florida

I have to say, sometimes ego leads to misjudgement, one must stay humble and be positive to keep the intellectuals, no matter where they come from.
Think about it, they must be authentic to pursue higher knowledgement and tech. to give up their family, sacrifice their leisure to live in a totally different culture state and survive.
Have gone so far, those intellectuals will stick to the side who treat them equally with humanity.
Why bother expelling those who had rooted in your own country and made contributions to it?

There are hardworking Chinese professionals working in the US who wouldn’t wish to return to China. Why do people flock in US soil? What is China doing differently? I believe that these are smart people who know what is best for them.

This is exactly what you want.. It seems like this guy learned from the USA and then went back with USA technology. China scientists were great creating the virus also.

Maybe this is a partial opinion, it's the government mis-lead them most of the time, when it comes to technology, it' s not related to their blood or nations, the intellectual himself knows well the consequences, it's the bureaucrat make him to do what or how to do it.
